Choose your supply and leads

Choose Power Supply Only, Power Supply with AU Power Lead, Power Supply with 0I Extension Lead, or Complete Power Supply Kit. The selected option determines which leads are included. Compare your existing mains lead and output connection before ordering.

Check compatibility before connecting

Match the original output voltage, current requirements, connector keying and polarity. Do not choose a replacement by chair brand or plug shape alone. For a battery charging setup, also confirm the required charging system and battery compatibility.

Use and fault checks

Disconnect mains power before checking connections. Keep the adaptor dry and ventilated, route leads away from moving mechanisms and do not open the casing or alter wiring. Follow the chair manufacturer’s instructions and use a qualified repair technician if unsure.

A chair that will not move can also have a handset, controller, cable or actuator fault. Diagnose the cause before replacing the supply.

Frequently asked questions

What output does this power supply provide?

The rated output is 29V DC, 2A (58W). Its additional 4A maximum (116W) marking does not mean continuous 4A operation.

What input supply does it require?

The input is 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz, 2.4A. Use a matching mains lead for the figure-eight inlet.

Does any two-pin recliner connector fit?

No. Match the complete connector shape, polarity and electrical requirements. A similar plug alone does not establish compatibility.

Which leads are included?

Choose Power Supply Only, Power Supply with AU Power Lead, Power Supply with 0I Extension Lead, or Complete Power Supply Kit. The selected option determines which leads are included. Compare your existing mains lead and output connection before ordering.

Can it operate continuously?

Observe the maximum 10% duty cycle: 2 minutes ON followed by 18 minutes OFF. Do not treat a maximum-current marking as a continuous rating.

Can this power supply be used outdoors?

No. It is marked IP20 and for dry-location use only. Keep it dry and follow the chair manufacturer’s instructions.

Can it charge every recliner battery?

No. Battery charging voltage, current, charging system, polarity and connectors must match. Confirm the battery manufacturer’s requirements before connecting a supply.

Can CouchGuard help check the replacement?

Yes. Call 1300 268 244 with photos of your original supply label, both connection ends and the chair or battery details before ordering.

Fitting

How To Install Electrical Components

Removing & Fitting General Electrical Components

  1. Place a drop sheet or old towels around the recliner.
  2. Turn off and remove the power supply plug from the mains.
  3. Gently turn the recliner over onto its side or on its back. Remember correct lifting methods.
  4. Locate the component and its lead. Follow the lead along to the plug end remembering where it runs.
  5. Using a pair of side cutters, snip the cable ties that are retaining the lead to the frame.
  6. Unplug the socket and remove the old component. Place the new component lead along the same path as the old and cable tie the new lead to the frame.
  7. Check all other leads are out of the way of moving parts.
  8. Turn the recliner back over to normal seating position
  9. Plug the main power supply back into the wall.
  10. Test the new component. Operate the lift chair recliner to its fullest position and check that all the leads are clear and not stretched.
  11. Return the lift chair to its normal seating position.

Tip: Check that all the leads are cable tied away from moving parts before turning the power supply back on. Leads can sometimes get jammed between moving parts causing a dead short after the chair is moved.

DO NOT exceed more then 2 mins operating time at anyone time. If you do exceed this time, wait 20 mins before using again.
