Description
CouchGuard Flexible Leather Filler
CouchGuard Leather Filler is a water-based, flexible and sandable repair compound for suitable leather surfaces. It is designed to fill minor scuffs, scratches, grazes, nicks, cracks and shallow gouges before surface preparation and colour application.
Choose from 12g, 40g or 150g jars. For cuts, holes, tears or deeper damage, stabilise the area first with compatible Leather Glue and backing fabric rather than relying on filler alone.
Key Features
- Water-based leather repair filler
- Flexible formula for suitable leather surfaces
- Can be sanded after it has dried
- Available in 12g, 40g and 150g jars
- Suitable for minor surface damage and prepared deeper repairs
- Made in-house by CouchGuard Australia
Basic Repair Process
- Identify the leather type and assess whether the damage needs structural support.
- Clean and prepare the area according to the repair-system directions.
- For cuts, holes or tears, secure backing fabric behind the damage with compatible leather repair glue.
- Apply filler in controlled layers, allowing each application to dry as directed.
- Sand the dried filler carefully with suitable leather-repair sandpaper.
- Complete the preparation and apply a compatible leather colour system.
Always test the complete repair process on a hidden area first. Results depend on the leather type, finish, condition, damage and application technique.
Frequently Asked Questions
What damage can Leather Filler repair?
It is intended for minor scuffs, scratches, grazes, nicks, cracks and shallow gouges, plus deeper repairs that have first been properly supported.
Can filler repair a tear or hole by itself?
No. Cuts, holes, tears and deeper damage generally need compatible backing fabric and leather repair glue to provide support before filler is applied.
Is this filler flexible?
Yes. It is formulated to remain flexible on suitable leather surfaces, although repair durability depends on preparation, damage and normal use.
Can I sand it after drying?
Yes. Once fully dry, the filler can be sanded carefully to refine the surface before preparation and colour application.
Which size should I choose?
The 12g jar suits small repairs, while 40g and 150g provide more material for larger jobs or multiple repair areas. Choose according to the amount of damage and number of applications required.
Does Leather Filler match the leather colour?
The filler prepares and levels the damaged area; it is not the final colour match. Apply a compatible leather-colour system after preparation.
Can I use it on every type of leather?
Leather types and finishes vary. Confirm suitability for the specific surface and test the complete process on a hidden area before beginning a visible repair.
