Description

Genuine Mulin ML18-017B recliner actuator

The Mulin ML18-017B is a replacement electric actuator motor for matching recliner installations. Match the full model, stroke, mounting dimensions and electrical connections before ordering; it is not a universal-fit motor.

Electrical specifications

  • Model: ML18-017B.
  • Label input: DC 28V 1.5A.
  • Label duty cycle: 0.5 minute ON / 4 minutes OFF.
  • Indoor use only.
  • Connect only to a matching Class II adapter DC output.

Performance

  • Stroke length: 333 mm.
  • Load capacity: 800 N, not a chair occupant-weight rating.
  • Speed: 36 mm/s.

Dimensions and build

  • Retracted mounting length: 139 mm minimum, measured centre to centre of pin.
  • Extended mounting length: 472 mm maximum, measured centre to centre of pin.
  • Material: aluminium alloy tube and plastic housing.

The mechanical dimensions, performance and material details are supplied by CouchGuard; they are not printed on the photographed electrical label. Compare measurements using the same pin-centre reference points.

Connections

  • Power: male two-pin flat/round I0 connector for the matching transformer line.
  • Hand control: female round five-pin socket with a 90-degree connection arrangement for the matching switch/remote.

Compare connector faces, polarity, pin arrangement and cable routing. Plug-and-play replacement applies only when the electrical system and mechanical installation match.

Compatibility and replacement guidance

Match the exact ML18-017B reference, including the B suffix, 333 mm stroke, 139 mm closed and 472 mm extended mounting lengths, fixing ends and available clearance. Other ML18 motors are not automatically interchangeable. If unsure, send CouchGuard clear photos of the original label, full motor, mounting points and plugs, together with your measurements.

A non-moving chair does not by itself confirm motor failure; the switch, power supply, cables or mechanism may also need checking. Disconnect mains power and any battery supply before replacement. Keep clear of moving mechanisms and use a qualified repairer if the chair cannot be safely supported. Do not modify plugs or connect directly to mains power. Follow the label duty cycle of 0.5 minute running followed by 4 minutes off.

Directions

How To Install Electrical Components

Removing & Fitting General Electrical Components

  1. Place a drop sheet or old towels around the recliner.
  2. Turn off and remove the power supply plug from the mains.
  3. Gently turn the recliner over onto its side or on its back. Remember correct lifting methods.
  4. Locate the component and its lead. Follow the lead along to the plug end remembering where it runs.
  5. Using a pair of side cutters, snip the cable ties that are retaining the lead to the frame.
  6. Unplug the socket and remove the old component. Place the new component lead along the same path as the old and cable tie the new lead to the frame.
  7. Check all other leads are out of the way of moving parts.
  8. Turn the recliner back over to normal seating position
  9. Plug the main power supply back into the wall.
  10. Test the new component. Operate the lift chair recliner to its fullest position and check that all the leads are clear and not stretched.
  11. Return the lift chair to its normal seating position.

Tip: Check that all the leads are cable tied away from moving parts before turning the power supply back on. Leads can sometimes get jammed between moving parts causing a dead short after the chair is moved.

DO NOT exceed more then 2 mins operating time at anyone time. If you do exceed this time, wait 20 mins before using again.
