Description
Genuine Mulin ML18-024 recliner actuator motor
The Mulin ML18-024 is a replacement electric actuator for matching recliner installations. It comes with a wiring harness featuring a female round five-pin socket and a male two-pin I0 power plug. Match the original model, mounting dimensions, stroke and wiring before ordering; this is not a universal-fit motor.
Manufacturer-label specifications
- Exact model: ML18-024, within the ML18 series.
- Input: DC 28V 1.5A.
- Duty cycle: 0.5 minute ON / 4 minutes OFF.
- Indoor use only.
- Connect only to a matching Class II adapter DC output, as specified on the label.
Connections and compatibility
The connector photo shows a female round five-pin socket and a male two-pin I0 power plug. Compare the connector faces, pin arrangement, polarity and cable routing with the original motor. Plug-and-play replacement applies only when the electrical system and mechanical installation match.
- Match the complete ML18-024 reference, not just the ML18 family.
- Compare the original stroke, closed and extended mounting-point distances, fixing ends and available clearance.
- Check both connectors and the original electrical requirements.
Stroke, installation length, speed and load are not specified on the photographed label. Do not assume these match another ML18 motor. If unsure, send CouchGuard clear photos of the original label, complete motor, plugs and mounting points, together with its dimensions.
Fault checks and safe replacement
A non-moving recliner does not by itself confirm a failed actuator. Power-supply, switch, cable or mechanism faults can also prevent movement. Disconnect mains power and any battery supply before replacement. Keep clear of moving mechanisms and use a qualified repairer if the chair cannot be safely supported. Do not force plugs, modify wiring or connect directly to mains power. Observe 0.5 minute running followed by 4 minutes off.

How To Install Electrical Components
Removing & Fitting General Electrical Components
- Place a drop sheet or old towels around the recliner.
- Turn off and remove the power supply plug from the mains.
- Gently turn the recliner over onto its side or on its back. Remember correct lifting methods.
- Locate the component and its lead. Follow the lead along to the plug end remembering where it runs.
- Using a pair of side cutters, snip the cable ties that are retaining the lead to the frame.
- Unplug the socket and remove the old component. Place the new component lead along the same path as the old and cable tie the new lead to the frame.
- Check all other leads are out of the way of moving parts.
- Turn the recliner back over to normal seating position
- Plug the main power supply back into the wall.
- Test the new component. Operate the lift chair recliner to its fullest position and check that all the leads are clear and not stretched.
- Return the lift chair to its normal seating position.
Tip: Check that all the leads are cable tied away from moving parts before turning the power supply back on. Leads can sometimes get jammed between moving parts causing a dead short after the chair is moved.
DO NOT exceed more then 2 mins operating time at anyone time. If you do exceed this time, wait 20 mins before using again.
