Genuine Mulin ML20-330 recliner headrest actuator with label-rated 45 mm stroke, 9 mm/s speed and 1000 N maximum actuator load. Motor label ML20D11 specifies DC 28V 2A and 2 minutes ON/18 minutes OFF. Male two-pin I0 power plug and female round five-pin socket. Match model, mounting dimensions, wiring and polarity.

Description

Genuine Mulin ML20-330 recliner headrest actuator

The Mulin ML20-330 is a replacement electric actuator for matching recliner headrest installations. Its label specifies 45 mm stroke, 9 mm/s speed and 1000 N maximum load. Match the complete actuator model and installation rather than choosing by appearance or the ML20 family alone.

Electrical specifications

  • Actuator model: ML20-330.
  • Motor label reference: ML20D11, not a separate compatibility claim.
  • Motor label input: DC 28V 2.0A.
  • Motor label also lists DC 28V 2A, 56W, 2700 rpm and Class A. The rpm is the motor rating, not linear actuator speed.
  • Intermittent duty: 2 minutes ON, followed by 18 minutes OFF.
  • Indoor use only; connect only to a suitable Class II DC circuit, as specified on the label.

Performance

  • Stroke: 45 mm.
  • Linear speed: 9 mm/s.
  • Maximum actuator load: 1000 N. This is force, not torque in Nm or a chair occupant-weight capacity.

Dimensions and mounting

Compare the original retracted and extended mounting lengths, measured centre to centre of pin where applicable, fixing ends and surrounding clearance. Mounting lengths are not supplied on the photographed label. Stroke is the actuator's travel, not its overall length.

Connections

The wiring photo shows one male two-pin I0 power plug, with one flat and one round pin, plus one female round five-pin socket. Match the connector faces, wiring, polarity and cable routing with the original system. Matching pin counts alone do not establish compatibility.

Compatibility and safe replacement

Confirm the ML20-330 model, electrical ratings, stroke, mounting dimensions, fixing ends and both connections before ordering. Plug-and-play replacement applies only to a matching mechanical and electrical installation. Send CouchGuard clear photos of your original label, full actuator, mounting points and connector faces, plus measurements, if you need help identifying the part.

A headrest that does not move can also have a switch, cable, power-supply or mechanism fault. Establish the fault before replacing the actuator. Disconnect mains and any battery supply before installation, keep clear of moving mechanisms and use a qualified repairer if the chair cannot be safely supported. Never connect directly to mains, force connectors or modify wiring to make a mismatched part fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ML20-330 used for?
It is a replacement actuator for matching electric recliner headrest installations.

Is its stroke 45 mm or 50 mm?
The photographed ML20-330 label specifies 45 mm. Use that rating when checking the replacement.

What is its linear speed?
The actuator label specifies 9 mm/s, not 10 mm/s.

What voltage and current does it use?
The ML20D11 motor label specifies DC 28V 2.0A. Match the original system and use a suitable Class II DC circuit.

What does the 1000 N maximum load mean?
It is the actuator force rating, not 1000 Nm torque or a chair occupant-weight rating.

Which connections are included?
One male two-pin I0 power plug and one female round five-pin socket. Check connector shape, wiring and polarity as well as pin count.

Can it run continuously?
No. The motor label specifies intermittent operation: 2 minutes ON followed by 18 minutes OFF.

Will any ML20 or ML20D11 motor replace it?
Not automatically. ML20-330 identifies this actuator; ML20D11 is the motor-label reference. Match the complete installation, including stroke and mounting dimensions.

Can it be used outdoors?
No. The label specifies indoor use only.

Directions

How To Install Electrical Components

Removing & Fitting General Electrical Components

  1. Place a drop sheet or old towels around the recliner.
  2. Turn off and remove the power supply plug from the mains.
  3. Gently turn the recliner over onto its side or on its back. Remember correct lifting methods.
  4. Locate the component and its lead. Follow the lead along to the plug end remembering where it runs.
  5. Using a pair of side cutters, snip the cable ties that are retaining the lead to the frame.
  6. Unplug the socket and remove the old component. Place the new component lead along the same path as the old and cable tie the new lead to the frame.
  7. Check all other leads are out of the way of moving parts.
  8. Turn the recliner back over to normal seating position
  9. Plug the main power supply back into the wall.
  10. Test the new component. Operate the lift chair recliner to its fullest position and check that all the leads are clear and not stretched.
  11. Return the lift chair to its normal seating position.

Tip: Check that all the leads are cable tied away from moving parts before turning the power supply back on. Leads can sometimes get jammed between moving parts causing a dead short after the chair is moved.

DO NOT exceed more then 2 mins operating time at anyone time. If you do exceed this time, wait 20 mins before using again.

Before You Buy a Replacement Part

Replacement parts can look similar while having different model numbers, dimensions, connectors or mounting points. Before ordering:

  • Check the original part for a manufacturer label, model number or part number.
  • Compare the connector type, dimensions and mounting points with the product listing.
  • Check the product description and compatibility guidance carefully.
  • Contact CouchGuard with clear photos if you are unsure which part you need.

Additional Checks for Electrical Parts

  • Check that the green light on the power supply is on.
  • Check the leads and connections for visible damage.
