Description

Genuine Mulin ML28-018 recliner footrest actuator

The Mulin ML28-018 is a replacement electric linear actuator for matching footrest installations in recliners and lift chairs. Its label specifies 342 mm stroke and 52 mm/s linear speed. Match the complete model and installation before ordering; this is not a universal-fit motor.

Electrical specifications

  • Actuator model: ML28-018.
  • Motor-label reference: ML20D10. This does not establish interchangeability with other actuators.
  • Motor label input: DC 28V 2.0A.
  • The motor label also lists DC 28V 2A, 56W, 3100 rpm and Class A. Motor rpm is separate from linear actuator speed.
  • Intermittent duty: 2 minutes ON followed by 18 minutes OFF.
  • Indoor use only. Connect only to a suitable Class II DC circuit as specified on the label.

Performance

  • Stroke: 342 mm.
  • Linear speed: 52 mm/s.
  • Maximum actuator load: 800 N. This is force, not 800 Nm torque or a chair occupant-weight capacity.

Dimensions and mounting

Compare the original retracted and extended mounting dimensions, measured centre to centre of pin where applicable, fixing ends and available clearance. The 342 mm stroke is actuator travel, not overall length or mounting length. Mounting dimensions are not supplied on the photographed label.

Connections

The connector photo shows a male two-pin I0 power plug with one flat and one round pin, plus a female round five-pin switch socket. Compare connector faces, polarity, pin layout, cable routing and the original control system. A matching pin count alone does not establish compatibility.

Compatibility and safe installation

Match ML28-018, stroke, mounting dimensions, fixing ends, electrical ratings and both connections. Do not assume ML28-018C or another similar Mulin actuator is interchangeable. Plug-and-play replacement applies only when the complete mechanical and electrical installation matches.

Send CouchGuard clear photos of the original label, full actuator, mounting points and connector faces, together with measurements, if you need help selecting the replacement.

A non-moving footrest may have a switch, cable, power-supply or mechanism fault rather than an actuator fault. Establish the cause before replacement. Disconnect mains and any battery supply before installation. Keep clear of moving mechanisms and use a qualified repairer if the chair cannot be safely supported. Do not force plugs, modify wiring or connect directly to mains power.

Frequently asked questions

What is the ML28-018 used for?
It is a replacement actuator for matching footrest installations in electric recliners and lift chairs.

What is its stroke?
The label specifies 342 mm travel. This is not the actuator's overall or mounting length.

What is its speed?
The actuator label specifies 52 mm/s linear speed.

Is its load 800 N or 800 Nm?
The label specifies 800 N maximum force, not torque in Nm and not a chair occupant-weight limit.

What electrical input does it require?
The motor label specifies DC 28V 2.0A and connection to a suitable Class II DC circuit.

Which connections are included?
One male two-pin I0 power plug and one female round five-pin switch socket. Match wiring and polarity as well as connector shape.

Can it run continuously?
No. The label specifies 2 minutes ON followed by 18 minutes OFF.

Will it replace an ML28-018C or any ML20D10 motor?
Not automatically. ML28-018 identifies this actuator and ML20D10 is its motor-label reference. Match the complete mechanical and electrical installation.

Does a non-moving footrest prove the actuator is faulty?
No. Switch, cable, power-supply and mechanism faults can also stop movement.

Can it be used outdoors?
No. The label specifies indoor use only.

Before You Buy a Replacement Part

Replacement parts can look similar while having different model numbers, dimensions, connectors or mounting points. Before ordering:

  • Check the original part for a manufacturer label, model number or part number.
  • Compare the connector type, dimensions and mounting points with the product listing.
  • Check the product description and compatibility guidance carefully.
  • Contact CouchGuard with clear photos if you are unsure which part you need.

Additional Checks for Electrical Parts

  • Check that the green light on the power supply is on.
