The CouchGuard 3950mAh universal recliner battery pack powers compatible electric recliners, sofas and lift chairs without keeping a power lead across the floor during use. Suitable for compatible couches, recliners, lift chairs and sofas of any brand that use a 2-pin O/I connection, with one round pin and one flat blade. Confirm matching voltage, polarity, power requirements and charging setup before use.

3950mAh or 6000mAh: which should I choose?

Consoles, USB ports, LED lighting and touch controls may draw power even when the chair is not moving. Some Plush and Nick Scali electric recliners with these features may need a higher-capacity battery. Chair brand alone does not confirm fit.

For larger lounges, lift chairs or matching installations needing higher capacity, consider the CouchGuard 6000mAh battery pack. Check its electrical specifications, connections and charging setup before choosing it as an alternative.

Optional hidden inline connection

On a compatible lounge, the battery can be connected inline in the cable between the back of the lounge and the footrest motor. Switch off and unplug the lounge first. Locate the existing joining clip and release it without pulling the wires. After checking that both battery connections match the separated cable ends and all electrical requirements, connect each cable end to the matching side of the battery. Do not force a plug or modify wiring. Position the battery and cables clear of the footrest mechanism and other moving parts, then restore power and check normal operation. If the joining clip or connectors differ, stop and ask for fit advice.

Charging and care

In a matching installation, the power-supply kit supplied with your couch, sofa or lounge also serves as the battery charger. Use the matching original power-supply kit and follow the supplied charging instructions; do not substitute an unverified supply. The battery also has a USB-C charging port when removed from its charging plate. Follow the instructions supplied with your pack when reading its charge indicator. Keep the battery and connectors dry and inspect cables for damage before use.

Yes, in a matching installation the original lounge power-supply kit also charges the battery. Follow the pack's supplied charging instructions and do not substitute an unverified supply.

How long does a full charge take?

Approximately 24 hours from flat under the existing product specifications. Actual charging time can vary.

How long will it run between charges?

Runtime depends on motor use, the chair and any continuous power draw from USB ports, consoles, lights or touch controls. There is no single reliable runtime for every setup.

Can it be connected out of sight inside the lounge?

On a compatible setup it can connect inline between the lounge and footrest motor. Match both connections and electrical requirements, and keep the battery and cables clear of moving parts.

What warranty applies?

The stated warranty is 24 months for 3950mAh packs purchased on or after 11 September 2026. Keep proof of purchase and check the applicable warranty terms.

Do you stock Pegar recline parts?

No unfortunately. Pegar handles have been obsolete for many years and we don’t stock any cables suitable.

How do you measure a recliner spring?

Recliner springs are measured by the overall length. You’ll find a break down of each recliner spring on each of the products pages. Simply click or tap on the “Measuring” tab.

Can I get a different shade brown?

No. There is only 1 colour brown available worldwide. There is no choice what shade of brown it is sorry.

My recliner handle measures 113mm x 70mm. Will your handles still fit?

Yes. There can be a couple mm tolerances in the measurements given.

My recliner handle measures 11cm x 7cm. Will your handles still fit?

Yes. Converted to millimetres is 110mm x 70mm.

How do you measure a recliner cable? You need to remove the trigger and cable from the recliner, disconnect the cable from the handle and use the Cable Cheat Sheet that is on the website.

How do I measure a recliner cable?

Click or Tap on the “Measuring” tab on the products page and follow the Cable Cheat Sheet to measure your cable correctly. Make sure you disconnect your cable from the handle before measuring. If you cable has broken the barrel off of the end, simply add that measurement, 3.5 or 6mm to the overall length measurement.
